Mike Bettes

A familiar face rounding out The Weather Channel Storm Team is Mike Bettes. Mike has provided live coverage from some of the worst weather in the country, including blizzards, ice storms, tornadoes, wildfires, and hurricanes and states that his "worst storm ever" was Ivan in 2004. The active 2005 hurricane season put Mike face to face with six hurricanes. He spent a week in Mississippi reporting on the aftermath of Katrina.

Mike holds a degree in Atmospheric Science from Ohio State University and has been awarded the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association seals of approval. When not reporting from the field, Mike can be seen alongside Stephanie Abrams each weeknight at 8pm ET on Abrams & Bettes - Beyond the Forecast.
