Doctorate in Meteorology from the University of Hawaii; research scientist at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at Princeton University; Chief, Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch of the National Hurricane Center from '94-'98; "Fellow of the American Meteorological Society;" and research scientist for the U.S. Navy. He is also a member of the advisory group for National Hurricane Hazards Reduction Act.
