On Your Mark, Get Set, Leave! Fall brings falling leaves. Pressing leaves and putting leaves under a piece of paper and coloring its outline and veins is always fun. There’s a lot more you can do when leaves leave the trees! How about a race? It can be a race against friends and family, or it can be a race against the clock.
Go outside and race to see who can gather the most leaves from different trees. You can set a time limit, or you can challenge everyone to see who can find 5 different leaves first … or 10 different leaves … or could you possibly find more?! When everyone’s done, compare the leaves and try to figure out which leaves go with which trees. Are there different colored leaves from the same trees? Which are your favorites? Which are the biggest?
And that reminds us … you can have another race and challenge everyone to find as many different colors as possible and/or find the largest leaves possible. Come to think of it, if you leave it to your imagination, you come up with all sorts of races!
