Most greenhouses look like small glass houses. Greenhouses are used to grow plants and flowers, especially in the winter. The glass walls and roof of a greenhouse let in heat energy (sunlight) from the sun and trap it from escaping. This causes the greenhouse to warm up inside; keeping the plants and flowers alive and safe from the outside temperature that is too cold for them to survive. |
